Yamada Hanataro

Yamada Hanataro is a Shinigami of the 4th Division of the Gotei 13, holding the position of third officer together with Yasochika Iemura and leading the 14th Advanced Medical Relief Group. Previously he was the seventh officer. Hanataro is known for his meek, clumsy nature and outstanding healing abilities, which make him a valuable member of the Gotei 13, despite his almost complete lack of combat power. His zanpakuto Hisagomaru does not wound but heals, and when enough of the gauge is accumulated while healing wounds, it turns into the scalpel Akeiro Hisagomaru. Despite his cowardice, Hanataro is capable of bold deeds for the sake of friends, as was the case when saving Rukia Kuchiki.
