Unohana Retsu

Retisu Unohana is the former captain of the Fourth Division of the Gotei 13, the greatest healer of the Soul Society, and one of the oldest Shinigami. Centuries before that, she bore the name Yachiru Unohana and was the first Kenpachi, the cruelest criminal who became one of the founders of the Gotei 13. Her personality is dual: outwardly a gentle, caring, and kind woman, in reality she conceals a ruthless killer who takes pleasure in battle. She learned medicine not for saving, but to prolong the fight, and only after meeting the young Kenpachi Zaraki did she realize that she had passed on her title to him. Unohana died in Muken, fulfilling her duty to the Soul Society, returning Zaraki his true strength and giving him victory. Her spiritual sword Minazuki in shikai takes the form of a huge manta-ray healer, and her bankai covers everything around with bloody liquid that heals wounds and strikes down enemies.
