Soi Fon is the captain of the Second Division of the Gotei 13 and the commander-in-chief of the Onmitsukidō, the organization responsible for reconnaissance and punishment in the Soul Society. She also heads the Punishment Force, an elite unit of assassins, and is the ninth head of the Fon clan, one of the lower noble houses serving the Shihōin clan. Soi Fon devoted her life to service and discipline, honing her mastery of hand-to-hand combat and instantaneous movement to the highest level. Her loyalty is boundless, but after the betrayal of her former mentor Yoruichi Shihōin, she withdrew into herself for many years, replacing admiration with burning resentment. Later their paths crossed again, and the old wound began to heal. Soi Fon is a born assassin who prefers lightning-fast attacks and instant death, but her bankai, Jakuhō Raikōben, is a bulky missile launcher that contradicts her style, which causes her inner protest. Despite her outward coldness, she deeply cares for her comrades and does not hesitate to sacrifice herself to fulfill her duty.
