Ichimaru Gin was the former captain of the Third Division of the Gotei 13, one of the three captains who betrayed the Soul Society alongside Aizen Sosuke and Tosen Kaname. His unchanging smile and perpetually narrowed eyes became his calling card, behind which hid one of the most dangerous and secretive men in Seireitei. His entire adult life was subordinated to a single goal — to take revenge on Aizen for the pain he caused Rangiku Matsumoto, the only person truly dear to him. For this sake, Gin spent decades pretending to be a loyal follower, so that at the decisive moment he could deliver a fatal blow. His spiritual sword Shinsō in shikai is capable of extending almost instantly by a hundred meters, while his bankai Kamishini no Yari, despite its outwardly identical form, concealed its true deadly essence — a poison that destroys cells from within. Gin died without managing to complete his revenge, but his final will was passed on to Ichigo Kurosaki, to whom he entrusted the task of finishing what he had begun.
