Ulquiorra Schiffer is an arrancar who held the position of Cuatro Espada in Sosuke Aizen's army. His aspect of death is nihilism, non-existence, emptiness. He is cold, emotionless, and believes that only what he sees with his own eyes exists; everything that is not reflected in his gaze has no meaning. Ulquiorra rejects human feelings, calling them an illusion, and devoted his entire life to discipline and loyalty to Aizen. His power is immense, and his ability for instant regeneration makes him almost invulnerable. He was the only Espada to achieve the second stage of release, Segunda Etapa, which even Aizen himself had never seen. At the end of his existence, Ulquiorra, having lost to Ichigo Kurosaki, for the first time realized what a "heart" is, and dissolved, leaving behind only a handful of ashes. His image is embodied loneliness, emptiness, and a lack of understanding of life, but in the last moment he gained what he had so long denied.
